Tejendra Pherali

Tejendra Pherali is Professor of Education, Conflict and Peace at UCL Institute of Education, University College London. His research engages with educational debates in low- and middle-income contexts and politics of ‘international development’. He is particularly interested in education policies and practice in contexts of forced displacement and post-war settings and in the role of education in peacebuilding. Tejendra currently leads the MA in Education and International Development: Conflict, Emergencies and Peace at UCL. He is the PI of an AHRC-funded Peace with Justice Network. He is the author of Conflict, Education and Peace in Nepal: Rebuilding Education for Peace and Development, (Bloomsbury, 2022). He chairs the Compare Editorial Board and is also the editor of Education and Conflict Review.
