Compare Editorial Board – invitation to apply for membership

Posted on 24/02/2022 By BAICE

Compare journal coverCompare is seeking to appoint four new members to join its Editorial Board (EB) and invites applications from interested scholars who have relevant expertise in the field of international and comparative education.  The EB meets three times during the year, is chaired by the Chair of BAICE and acts in an advisory capacity for Compare’s editorial team, currently Catherine Montgomery, Sheila Trahar and Oscar Valiente.  For example, we seek regular advice from EB members regarding the aims and scope of the journal, together with developing ways to increase its impact. In addition, each EB member is asked to review up to four manuscripts per year within Compare’s required timeframe (4 weeks). Our EB, together with our College of Reviewers, gives us confidence that Compare remains a high-ranking international journal and that all articles published contribute significantly to contemporary debates in international and comparative education.

Please submit a CV and brief, covering letter, outlining your reasons for wanting to join the EB, together with what you believe you can contribute to it.  We welcome applications from scholars who are based in institutions outside the UK, but they must be able to attend at least two online EB meetings per year.  BAICE will reimburse costs for local travel within the UK and one night’s accommodation (if needed) when the EB meetings are held in-person. International travel will not be reimbursed.

Applications should be sent to Emma Arya-Manesh (ku.ca1680187830.ecia1680187830b@era1680187830pmoc1680187830), Compare’s Editorial Assistant by 30 April 2022.
