The British Council is the UK’s international organisation for cultural relations and educational opportunities. We support peace and prosperity by building connections, understanding and trust between people in the UK and countries worldwide.

The Centre for the Study of Global Development (CSGD) is a research centre at The Open University in the UK which aims to understand and address global development challenges, particularly among disadvantaged and marginalised populations.

Our focus is global in nature, acknowledging that these challenges exist across countries and contexts, and interdisciplinary at heart, recognising that they are best addressed through a combination of disciplines, data and methods.

Our vision is to lead and support transformative research and learning in pursuit of human wellbeing and social justice. We aim for our work to make a genuine difference to people’s lives, and lead to knowledge that matters to and can be actioned by partners and participants.

The Journal of International Cooperation in Education (JICE) is a peer-reviewed, open-access journal that engages with unconventional approaches to educational development and knowledge generation. Embracing untapped intellectual resources to problematise the dominant mode of policy-making and practices in the global South, including:

Reflect and analyse the global educational policy architecture from unconventional critical perspectives.
Discuss sustainable forms and practices of education in the global South drawing from critiques of the dominant development paradigm.
Bring voices of diverse stakeholders involved in International Cooperation in Education such as practitioners, grassroots organisations, and policymakers in addition to scholars.
