Council for Education in the Commonwealth Annual Conference

The Council for Education in the Commonwealth’s Annual Conference will be held at the British Council Headquarters in central London just off Trafalgar Square.

10.45 a.m. (registration/coffee from 10.00) to 4p.m and includes lunch

It is open to all, including non-Members of CEC.

As shown on the attached below there is a small charge to register – £25 for CEC Members, £30 for non-members and £15 for students.

We believe the theme of the Conference, Team Commonwealth and Goals in Education, will be of wide interest.  With the help of many distinguished speakers (see the provisional programme), we shall be exploring how, especially in education, the Commonwealth can work more effectively with external partners, how the plethora of Commonwealth bodies with an interest in education can co-ordinate their efforts, and how to link up the different sectoral concerns (health, employment, youth, education etc) to produce a more holistic approach to development.  And we will be looking forward to the prospects for next year’s (2015) CHOGM in Malta and the 19th Conference of Commonwealth Education Ministers in the Bahamas, and how civil society and others can engage productively with those gatherings of senior decision-takers.
