22 February 2018
10:00 – 16:30
Matters of race and racism have had a long and fraught connection to the project of international development. While the Sustainable Development Goals have drawn attention to the multidimensional aspects of inequality, there has been relatively little policy and research debate on the distinctive mechanisms of racial inequality, including in the field of education. This workshop brings together researchers and policy actors to critically discuss the concepts, categories and practices of race and racism in educational development and consider new agendas for addressing racial inequalities globally.
