
Anneke is an anthropologist of education interested in indigenous education, Islamic education, family educational decision-making, debates around quality, and postcolonial theory – with regional expertise in francophone West Africa. She currently works as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Free University of Brussels. Prior to obtaining this post, she was a Teaching Fellow in Global Studies at the University of Sussex. She holds a PhD in Social Anthropology and a Masters in Cross-Cultural Research Methods from the University of Sussex; a Masters in Gender and Development from the Institute of Development Studies (IDS); and a BA in Human Sciences from the University of Oxford.
