Workshop 1 – Research ethics in international and comparative education: critical engagement for improved practice
The first event in this thematic forum will be a workshop which brings together researchers to critically discuss key issues encountered in research ethics in international and comparative education (ICE).
In the morning, there will be short presentations from three different perspectives (the Academy of Social Sciences, University of Nottingham and a multi-country research project) followed by critical group discussion of existing ethical guidelines and frameworks. After lunch, there will be time for further group discussion about alternative theoretical and methodological frameworks for improved ethical practice. The day will end with the identification of collaborative next steps for the thematic forum.
The workshop will begin with registration at 10.30am and close at 3.30pm. Lunch, coffee and refreshments will be provided.
The event is free to all BAICE members.
There is some money available to cover travel expenses for BAICE members. Please email the address above for more details.
