Job Title: Postdoctoral Researcher – Education

Faculty / Institute / Department: Institute of Education, Centre for Research into the Education of Marginalised Children and Young Adults (CREMCYA)

Starting Salary: £30,046 per annum

Hours: Full Time (1.0 FTE)

Term: Fixed term for 22 months (May 2023)

Closing date: 4th April 2021

Interview date: 23rd April 2021 

Summary
This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate, dynamic and highly-motivated individual to have input into the foundations of a new research centre and to gain a variety of professional experiences.

Job Details
The role of the post-holder will be to contribute to the work of the Centre. This will include teaching on the new MA Education, International Development and Social Justice, undertaking and publishing research of the highest quality, assisting with applications for research grants, building and managing relationships with external partners and planning public engagement activities. The position will also involve some supervision of MA and MPhil/PhD students.

It is expected that the post-holder will have a PhD in education and international development/ education in emergencies.

*Please note that the postholder must have the legal right to work in the UK upon appointment.

Based in the Institute of Education, the Centre for Research into the Education of Marginalised Children and Young Adults (CREMCYA) has a distinct focus on the education of children and young adults who are not well-served by existing formal and traditional forms of education both in the UK and globally.

The Centre aims to combine innovative and world-class research with practical engagement and social impact. It is intended that the research of the Centre will contribute to academic literature, inform debate, improve education practice and influence public policy.
