BAICE recognises that escalating costs can make conference attendance difficult for colleagues, especially those on lower incomes and insecure contracts who are less likely to be eligible for funding.
There is a long history of collaboration between BAICE and UKFIET, and we value the opportunities the UKFIET conference provides for facilitating connections, collaboration and collegiality between the two organisations.
Therefore, while our standard conference bursary scheme has now closed for 2023, we have launched an additional scheme to support attendance at UKFIET. We are offering a £200 contribution to students, ECRs within 5 years of the award of their PhD, or colleagues on fixed-term contracts of 24 months or less. There are fifteen grants available.
To apply, please send an expression of interest to ku.ca1695378952.ecia1695378952b@stn1695378952arg1695378952 by Friday 23rd June. The email must include a single PDF document that contains:
- Confirmation that you have had an abstract accepted at UKFIET 2023.
- Confirmation from a supervisor or line manager that you meet at least one of the criteria (you are a registered student; you are within 5 years of your PhD; you are on a fixed term contract of <24 months)
- Confirmation from a supervisor or line manager that you have not received grant or institutional funding to attend UKFIET that covers more than 50% of the total cost of attendance (taking into account registration, accommodation, reasonable subsistence and economy travel). Please provide an indicative budget for your attendance at UKFIET.
